Chainsawing - We chainsaw felled trees and oversized blocks. We saw to your required lengths, fitting your stove perfectly.
Log Splitting - We use only the very best equipment. Our log splitter is an Australian made SuperAxe, which is one of the fastest and safest machines on the market today and is fully work cover compliant.
We can split the hardest woods no matter how large or seasoned.
Moving your firewood - We can move your firewood to any part of your property utilising our 4x4 Ute or good old fashioned wheel barrow power.
Log Stacking - Give your home that cosy look with an attractive firewood stack. We will stack it in a safe and easily acessable way.
We are fully insured and come equiped with all the relevant PPE.

Our Mission
Kelpies mission is focused on sustainable energy.
We want to give our Blue Mountains community the opportunity to easily recycle their dead or fallen trees into a valuable fuel source. We recognised a problem experienced by many arborists and their customers. When bringing down trees what to do with the material? In some cases, customers would like to keep the material but do not have the means in which to process it into firewood. The arborist now has the task of mulching and disposing of the material. This process incurs a large carbon footprint and wastes a viable fuel source.
We at Kelpie are passionate about delivering an economic product. With firewood wholesalers now charging $250 - $300 per cubic metre it is becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy those cosy nights in front of the stove.
In comparison a cubic metre processed by Kelpie would cost 20% - 35% of that of a wholesaler.
By recycling the resource into firewood, we tackle the following issues…
1 – Save yourself money on your fuel bill.
2 - Reduce the pressure of logging and transport of firewood from native forests around Australia.
3 – Reduce mulch waste directed for landfill.

Kelpie Mobile Log Splitting & Custom Log Sheds is a service provider based in the Blue Mountains founded by Barry Slaven.
We are a local Blackheath company proudly servicing the Blue mountains and Lithgow area.
As a Scotsman living in the Blue Mountains I feel particularly at home when winter rolls around and we can fire up the wood stove. A Kelpie in Scotland is a little different to the beloved Australian dog. A kelpie is a shape-shifting aquatic spirit of Scottish legend usually taking the shape of a horse. Not quite man's best friend but none the less a cool link between our two very different and very beautiful lands.
